A steriliser is one of the most helpful tools for new parents. Even if you’re exclusively breastfeeding, you’ll likely still use bottles for expressed milk, dummies, pump parts, or medication syringes.

Having a steriliser makes keeping everything clean and safe quick and easy—especially during those sleep-deprived newborn days.

It takes one thing off your mental load so you can focus on feeding your baby and resting. 🤍

Swaddling can help mimic the feeling of being in the womb, which often helps babies settle and sleep more easily.

First, lay your swaddle blanket down and fold the top down slightly.

Place your baby on their back with their shoulders just below the fold.

Now gently place one of baby’s arms down by their side and bring one side of the blanket across their body, tucking it snugly underneath their back.

Next, fold the bottom of the blanket up over baby’s feet. Make sure there’s room for their hips and legs to move, as we don’t want the swaddle too tight around the hips.

Then take the remaining side of the blanket and wrap it across baby’s body, tucking it securely behind their back.

Your baby should now feel snug around the arms and chest, but still have some movement around the hips and legs.

Always place your swaddled baby on their back to sleep, and stop swaddling once your baby begins showing signs of rolling.

Swaddling can be a really helpful tool for settling newborns in those early weeks.
